Jason Witten Thinks Butch Jones has Done “a Great Job”

Jason Witten is one of the best tight ends to ever play the game of football. He played at Tennessee from 2000 to 2002 and went on to have an illustrious career in the NFL with the Dallas Cowboys. He is No. 2 all-time in career receiving yards for a tight end and is one of two tight ends in NFL history to have more than 1000 receptions.

At the Cowboys’ training camp on Monday, he was asked about his thoughts on the Vols’ upcoming season by Knoxville News Sentinel reporter Rhiannon Potkey, and he had this to say:

“I know there are a lot of high expectations and the standard is set pretty high for the team and the program. I am just pulling for them. I think Butch has done a great job getting the right players in there and getting back to competing for championships. Now they have to put in the work and accomplish it.”

It seems like Witten has his expectations for Tennessee in the right place. We know Butch Jones has put together a solid squad and has UT back in the national conversation, now they just have to go out and get the job done.

We couldn’t have said it better ourselves, Jason.
